My first episode on “That’s Not Spit, It’s Condensation” is with Demondrae Thurman. This interview was great for many reasons. The content in it is superb, as Demondrae is world class in so many aspects of life. He’s incredibly talented and hardworking at the euphonium, as a conductor, and as an educator. I’ve known him for a couple of years now, and I can say without a doubt that he gives all he has to his performances and his students.
Another reason this interview was a great one is that it was the first one I ever did. I’m pretty sure I was more nervous for it than Demondrae was. I’m so thankful he was my first podcast episode though, because talking with him feels like one inspiring moment after another, and it quickly became very comfortable. I think anyone who knows Demondrae would agree.
I wanted to be able to highlight him and his playing, so here’s a playlist I made on Spotify, check it out! It’s his album entitled “Soliloquies”.
Until next time,
Ryan
